The theme for the fifth edition of La Guarimba is Propaganda in the Cold War era. The program includes short films of various genres with origins in each continent. Our international jury is comprised of: film director Ruslan Magomadov (Russia), Claudette Godfrey from SXSW (USA), Kyrylo Marikutsa from Kyiv Short Film Festival (Ukraine), Diane Malherbe from Clermont-Ferrand (France), and Javi Muñíz from Certamen Internacional de Cortos Ciudad de Soria (Spain). Despite the economic crisis in our city, we have dedicated ourselves to maintaining free entry to our outdoor cinema because we believe culture is indispensable.
Once again Vimeo screened their best Staff Pick Video films curated by Sam Morrill (USA) and we started a partnership with Karmala Cultura (Senegal) creating a special program of african films.
We organised an illustration exhibition, a dye workshop with Fragmentario, an african dance workshop and several conferences.
The second edition of La Grotta dei Piccoli got the support of UNICEF ITALIA.
